*Make Friendship*
I have always felt that there is something wrong with this phrase, yet my friend ( whom I consult for anything related to English Language) tells me that there is nothing wrong with this phrase, atleast gramatically. I have encountered this phrase many at times and I again today at a blog which I read regularly.
My problem is not with the grammar, but with the meaning the phrase *portrays*. How can you make Friendship ?? You don’t sit and design or construct it. It just happens. As they say it clicks. No one can *make friendship*.
There is always that group of people who are friends, have friendship between themselves, are in friendship. I don’t know anyone who makes friendship with someone. May be I just don’t understand the concept of English Language.
Lets look at the usage of this phrase. This phrase is mainly used by boys who want to start interacting with *that* girl, who they have been ogling for some time now. And they barge in and utter
I want to make friendship with you.
Reading the above line makes me feel that word friendship is so desperate to get out of that sentence and ready to be replaced by that word which is a taboo in our society. Yes this is the no brainer first line that many boys use to start a conversation with the person of the opposite gender. More often than not the motive is more ulterior than just friendship. I just wonder how many have been successful with it usage.
I just want to request people out there not to term that hideous crime at the back of your mind which you want to commit as friendship.
Lets Have Friendship that is meaningful and exemplary !!

We have been given a life to live. To Enjoy, to have fun. Not to fret and worry about !!
From what I have seen in life… many people come in our lives, there are some with whom we get attached to, but sometimes, with some people, a special bond is formed which may be more intense than any other relation…
Yes, one does ask the question “Jaane tu meri kya hai, Jaane mai tera kya tha” (Translation in English: “Who were you to me, Who am I to you”) But there comes a time when one realizes that there was no relation and maybe it was never meant to be… there was and is an intense bond that was formed maybe because of the same mental and emotional level…
The question is – Is it really essential to give a name to such a relation??? The bond cannot be defined as just friendship or any other relation maybe because it was stronger and much more intense… But why does one feel a need to define it??? Can it be defined by a name at all???
So what happens if you never see the person again??? We will have to deal with a fact that it was never meant to be… Ofcourse we miss them terribly… but what do you do in that case???
One has to choose from the many available options…
* Try not to see them again and avoid talking about them!
* Sulk and whine that life is not fair, you really need that person but destiny is against you!
* Create problems in their life… with the intention that “If I am not happy, nobody can be!!!” (Gosh… that is a sadist’s point of view)
* Keep in touch, as friends and old acquaintances but nothing more. Help them out if they need it but never expect anything back in return!!! (Oops… that is an angel’s point of view)
* Always cherish those special memories… but move on in life!
Well, the choice is open!!!
