Patience is one quality which is in serious shortage in the realm of Indian Mentality !!

  1. I don’t agree unless quantified…

  2. Well, I have made the statement based on my daily observations of the daily traffic I have to face. Waiting for an extra minute gets into the nerve of everyone. Jumping of signals, Honking for apparantely no reason, getting that extra half car length of space no matter what and the me-first attitude.

The same things are directly mapped on to our lives. The same approach we take in our life. Always Me-First !!

  3. I agree with you when it’s about traffic (read more on this http://gururajb.wordpress.com/an-offence)

But in general, I don’t agree with you. I’ve seen many people who have patience. Who are waiting for the right time for opportunity to come out with flying colours. Who are waiting for their next successful step…

    Traffic is just one excuse…

  4. Yes, traffic is one where it is clearly seen. But otherwise also, we are less patient. Only thing is, it cannot be easily seen.

We are always in hurry to take the next step, to buy the next car, the next flat. To look for the next opportunity and strike gold. We always want to be the first one to board the elevator, to enter the parking lot, the first one to be in the queue.

Why ?? We have been taught, from beginning, there are only limited seats, and in this case, it is always first come first serve.

    Thats our mentality, Me-First !!

  5. Sorry for posting again this link…

I still don’t agree with you. You’re looking at small things, I suggest you should look at broader options. And I don’t think it’s being thought or learnt, it’s virtue of one.

  6. But the level of patience changes, over time. I for one, can vouch for that. Because I notice the level of patience I had within me has now reduced.

And may be, it is possible, that since my level has reduced, I have a general feeling that everyone else may also be less patient now.

But still, I would question you, what makes you feel that we have patience, in today’s time.

  7. I can understand why do you think so. You’re little frustrated and that’s why you think others too don’t have patience. I don’t blame you for this, as you rightly said it’s cos of today’s competitive time.

To answer your question, I too loose patience some times. But that doesn’t mean that I jump lanes, or hop medians. I promptly switch off the engine when I’m at signal and I know it’s going to take time for my turn.

Having patience or not is my mental status, and it’s in your hand how you control it.

  8. Yes, I may be running short of patience myself. But I too always switch off my engine at signals, I never hop a median !!

Traffic is just one place where we see and again that is not complete.

I will stand by my stance, in general, we all are running out of patience !!

  9. Relax Kid (I like the way it sounds)

Start ignoring your surrounding, it will ease tension off you…

  10. Yeah, I guess you are right !!

  11. We are ignorant and have lack of discipline.
We do not know our responsibilities and rights.
We cast vote to caste and religion but not to honesty and
responsibility. We have zero listening habit. Our country is
run by makeshift (tatpurvi ) and shortcuts. Here even food
and medicine are adulterated. our road and colonies are
stuffed with daily used waste material. These are some of
problem. Among the top 10 richest persons of the world,
one or two found Indians but majority of population are poor. We do not have adequate number of police and law
courts to keep law and order position smooth and to give
people quick justice. we have patience for these problems but we are impatient of just foolish things.

  12. We don’t have patience for problems….but we try to look for own shortcut. These problems are a byproduct of our own shortcuts and nothing else. Its not patience…but again…impatience!!
