Why did the Chicken cross the road??
I wonder why some people cross the road like they are strolling in the park. Is it the joy of feeling that they are invincible?? If they are thinking that way, then I have deep sympathies for them. I remember I was taught how to cross the road, when I was very young, for my safety (and of those who travel on the road).
First you look on your right and then left and then right. Once you are sure that there are no vehicles coming, then you cross the road with a brisk pace.
I wonder if it is that difficult or if it is so much of an exercise that it drains them of their energy!!
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To show to humans, how it is done!!
When I am crossing the road, I am usually relaxed and carefree…
I believe that since those on vehicles have been given a license to drive on the road, it is them who should be looking here and there to avoid hitting the pedestrians. Whereas people like me, those without a license, should proceed to the desired destinations without worrying about other vehicles on the road.
Some call it stupidity… and others call it LOGIC !!!
Logic or Stupidity, I don’t know..
but the people mentioned above are not only a danger to their lives but to the people who are travel ling in vehicles.
Even though perfectly alright they may be following all the rules of the road, but just because somebody thinks that roads are for people to walk and not cars to run, I get into trouble.
As per the rules, pedestrians are supposed to be only on the Zebra crossings or Footpaths and not on the road.!!
Exactamundo, Kid!
For all the people who cross roads as if strolling in a park :
You think the guy travelling perpendicular to you WILL spot you. Buddy! if you ever drove/rode on a road before, you’ll know how hard it is to avoid stationary objects, obscured by traffic, in the middle of a road, where it is not “supposed” to be and where the drivers/riders are least expecting it.
Its your life. You cannot completely rely on others to protect it. If you do … God help you. Maybe I wont ram you, coz I dont want to in the first place, but there are many others who might not hesitate doing it.
I myself cross a road when there is minimal traffic, or a zebra crossing (if there is any). It might take 5 minutes more, but atleast it ensures that i’ll live to see the light other day.
“Its your life. You cannot completely rely on others to protect it”
These are THE words!!
@Guess Who? For people like you who think the one behind the wheels have a got a license to drive and hence should be careful on the road- need to think again, they have license to drive not to be careful on your behalf- after reading your thoughts i think the govt should introduce a license for walking on the roads too- if that’s the way to make you understand between a stroll and crossing the road. Please Note there is thin line between being carefree and careless!
@ Kid- Interesting blog, looking forward to coming back and reading more stuff… CheerS
Thanks Pallavi. Will try my best to keep you interested !!
