Home & Away!!

Behold the age of Globality!! A domestic tournament, with teams based on regional states is now going to happen outside the country. Yes, I am talking about IPL Season 2. Well, from the point of IPL/BCCI and the game of T20 cricket, it is actually a very good and innovative decision. The playing conditions will be radically different from the previous season and hence so can be the results. Out of a very tough situation (read Country’s election and Security concerns), the IPL/BCCI has brought out a blinder.

But the quest of dishing out what the nation craves for, has taken us to new dimensions. Where a domestic tournament is played outside the country. Where the concept of home & away will remain always away. And I wonder how will the team loyalty be build in India. I guess, it will then be that Manchester will be supporting of Mohali and Cambridge be supporting Chennai.

I wonder if we have to check ourselves!!

  1. Crazy for Cricket!

It is so uncool that the IPL is not happening on our home grounds… There was so much excitement every where last year, and this time around we will have to watch in our living rooms…. And it is quite sad that we are not capable (or should I say confident) to handle two big things at the same time- elections & IPL. Security of the players, politicians and the people of India is a question mark??? Well when is it that is not a questionable. When I step out after 8 on the Delhi roads- I am confused that if I feel safe is it because I am to believe that the Govt takes care of my security measures or I am an over confident fool ( most of the times, it is the latter), anyway a totally different topic for discussion

Though it is also amazing to note that there is so much money riding on the tournaments that we are actually organizing our state team matches on International grounds.

I wonder why we still have Hockey as our National Sport. When the favourite mantra of Indian is ‘Om Cricketaye Namah’!
