A Soldier!?

A Soldier is one of the most undramatic of characters. He fights with courage and valor for his country in death defying conditions, thinking nothing but what he has asked been to do. And when he accomplishes the mission on which he had set his mind to, he does not rejoice in celebration, but picks a corner and mourns for the loss he had to incur to reach his destination. Without much fanfare, he moves on to his next task, not thinking about the rewards or praises that he should get, and he doesn’t, taking every thing in the line of the duty.

A Salute to the Nations’ Force, which stay awake at night, so that I can sleep peacefully, which stay away from their family, so that I can spend memorable time with mine!!

  6. There are times when little kids wait for their dadies to get home after an endless wait of months, or sometimes years and daddy comes and feels he missed out on his child’s growing up.

There are also times, when daddy reaches home and he has leeches stuck to his leg from the last excercise he went to. He just soaks his legs in warm water with salt added and kids, aghast at what happened to daddy, watch with amazement.

More then 50 trunks after you retire, and an uneasy feeling of being asked “who are you?”

  7. Correctly put across, especially the uneasy feeling. One wonders after so many years of a totally different life style, how is one expected to suddenly blend in with the rest of the society, without asking himself this question.
