The Dancing Sun!!

Why does the view in the Rear View Mirror looks more beautiful than the one through the Windscreen!!

It is not just a statement, I experienced it in my last to last biking trip!!

I saw an amazing sun rise today, atop a mountain with different shades of colour springing out of the sky before we actually saw the sun. At some point of time, we saw the sun in an oval shape. The cloud formation was amazing, as if cotton has been laid down as a path for you to walk on it… I wish I could!!

I saw another amazing sun set in the last to last trip!! That was the orthodox one. Again the sky bursting out in various shades, birds flying by and the clouds playing the game of hide & seek.

Yet, both these instances of sun dancing around, reminded me of one paticular sun set which I witnessed almost a couple of years back. That particular sunset remains my favorite till date, and I don’t  think that will change. But I wonder why others should remind me of that !! Overall it was amazing!!

Again, as I have said earlier,

I once saw eyes, which looked like the setting sun, marinated in red wine!!

Plain Bad Luck!?

Almost a year back, we got our broadband internet connection. After a few months of blistering speed (according to Indian standards) of digital connectivity, we noticed a considerable increase in downtime of the connection. Being it take from the PSU, the support was more than lacking. In a fit of frustration, we ventured out and applied for another connection. One of a private player with repute. Alas, it was even worse. And since then, we have struggled to get a connection.

Of the 5 major ISPs and 3 not so major, only 2 provide connections to my house and both of these two were pathetic. I guess, the choice to live in a little serenity (though very close to the mayhem of the crowded world) has made us pay dearly. One of the ISPs service personnel went on to say that, as our place is surrounded by trees, the signals are pretty week. Its a totally technical reason. Limitations which the technology has. Just my plain bad luck!!

A Child into an Adult!!

Another purpose of schools and colleges, besides educating us, is to form us into a person who is matured and turns out to be a formidable citizen of the society. I think, a good way would be to coach us on how to shoulder responsibilities. Responsibilities of both self and others.

Yet day on day, I hear restrictions being added to both schools and colleges. Instead of treating us as adults so that we understand, make mistakes and learn, students are treated more of infants (not even as children), who are told to do everything instead of allowing them to make a decision.

In my opinion, one abuses something, only when one is new to it. One abuses power, when he gets after a long wait!!

The earlier we provide them with things such as freedom, responsbilities and the power to execute/achieve those responsibilities (ofcourse with a good amount of monitoring) the better it will be for the generation.

As an example: I was choosing which subjects I would study for my 10th boards yet I was told which elective to choose in my engineering.

I should be allowed to make mistakes, because I can learn from them!!

A man of understanding, walketh upright!!

Justice in the Democratic World!!

This post, again, is part of the series which highlights the flaws in ideologies of the so-called leaders of my country, and my anguish and frustration which is creeping inside me, looking where my beloved country is headed to!!

I read in a news article that a prominent politician and leader has criticized a lawyer for defending the accussed terrorist from the very recent terror attack in my country.

I wonder what the leader is trying to suggest. Whether we should not allow justice to take its natural course, using the right means? or whether we should refuse government orders handed out to us, just because we think they are wrong?

If the leader, is so convinced that the accussed terrorist is the terrorist, why does he feel afraid if he is afforded a fair trial? Does he not have faith in the judicial system of the country??

And how does he feel it is alright, when the accused and convicted walk the streets unharmed and unquestioned??

I have always loved my country, with great respect and pride. But my love, respect and pride for my fellow countrymen has been on a continuous decline off late !!

The Biggest Democracy in the World!!

They say

“India is the Biggest Democracy in the World”

somehow I feel

“India is the Biggest Democratic Joke in the World”

As an example:

Bangalore is supposedly one the of the cosmopolitian cities in India. The population is hugely diverse interms of background and habits. It was known as the City of Pubs for its famous night life. Now the following rules exist

1. A place where liqour is served cannot have a dance floor.

2. All Discs, bars, pubs, restros are to be closed at 11 PM

Our Police department explains these rules, to curb the dealing in black money and other illegal activities. According to them, these bars/pubs are the hub of activities. The Dance Floor and Liquor to protect our females from preying kind of species.

I am not a party-goer or a heavy boozer. For that matter, most of the days, I am deep asleep by 11 PM. So how does it affect me. Well it doesn’t. But for many it  does.

So what my point??

Just because our police department is incompetent to catch the criminals polluting our society (and for that matter honest enough to admit that they are not capable to arrest them and bring them to justice), normal people get limitations (and sometime logic less rules) to curb their freedom.

Is this democracy??

I have a better idea, why not put curfew, 20 hours a day. I bet our crime rates in the country will reduce drastically. What say ??

Democracy results in laws which cover the incompetency of our governing/administration bodies, on the expense of people who are paying for the same governing/administration bodies.
