Power!!
With Power comes great Responsibility!!
But I feel, the Responsibility should come first. Power should only be the tool to enable the execution of the responsibility in an easier way.
But no matter what, the Responsibility has to be fulfilled, with or without Power!!
The Recession !!
I need enlightenment. I need somebody to explain to me. How is it we say we are in recession when our GDP is expected to grow between 7-8% this year, when almost all the companies have declare net profits in this quarter and many have beaten the analysts expectation.
Are we saying that, we are in the recession just because our stock market crashed ?? The stock market crashed because all the foreign investors pulled their money out. The reason for their pulling the money out was not that our economy was not growing, but they were short of liquidity.
As far as I understand, the stock market does not affect the operation of the company. (Rather, I think the operation of the company affects the stock market.) But, our companies are performing well.
I believe, all those industries sectors which cater for the domestic consumers, will not see considerable reduction in their revenues. The industries, which provide services based on cheaper rates, should mostly likely to benefit also, as people will look for cheaper alternatives abroad.
Somehow, as I previously have posted, I believe this is our Golden Chance !! But again, I am just a lay man, who can be very well wrong !!
The Bailout Package !!
The Aviation Industry is running in loss. They are now asking the Government to provide them with a Bailout package.
I check my air-ticket. I realise the 80% of the cost is taxes and 20% is what is going to the airline. But then, the airline is charging me less than what a 3AC will take me to my destination. Then how did they come up to that price?? Just to get the volumes ?? But then, if they inccur a loss on every ticket sold, they are increasing the loss by selling tickets !! Is that not simple maths ?? So on what basis did they come up to that price structure??
Now they ask for the bailout package. The package, if given by the government, will be out of my pocket (where do you think the government is getting the money from??) So, somehow, I feel what the airline industry is asking is for me to pay up for their mistakes. Yet, when they strike gold, they want to keep all the profits !!
That bailout package is at the cost of my development. Which have gone into build more roads or dams or power plants (I do, agree most of it goes in the coffers of the Babudom). Hell, I have incurred huge losses in my personal wealth due to the recent slow down in the economy. ( Why else I would think twice or thrice before booking an air ticket !!). Should I also ask the government to provide me with a bailout package ??
Just because the western countries are ‘bailing out’ their financial instituitions we should also do for the aviation industry?? Why not decrease the taxes, so that the airfares reduce and I fly more.
Sorry, I would prefer no Bailout !!

Is this something I should be worried about ?? I think, Yes !!
