Dream Girl

When oft upon my cot I lie,

Her face flashes in my mind’s eye.

Those azure eyes full of love,

Those rosy cheeks, that smile of Jove.

Darker than night, her long black hair,

Her face gleaming like a flare.

Those lips are like petals of rose,

How elegant is her slender nose.

A fairy she is, on my word I swear,

A budding rose she seems in her white attire.

That graceful walk, that lovely look,

A girl with a heart clear as a brook.

Flowers blooms at her pleasant smile,

To hear her voice, cuckoos stop a while.

Her beauty puts the moon to shame,

So cute, so delicate a dame.

That beauty so divine,

Oh! I wish she were mine.

Be A Man

(Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s “IF”)

In the lonesome journey of life,

Smile at every passerby.

Let them drop a tear for you,

In your cold tomb when you lie.

Let your life be an endless ocean,

Not a narrow stream.

Ever accepting, never refusing,

Never filled upto the brim.

Pleasure and pain are a moment’s guest,

And never to be trusted.

Trust your hands and your brains,

Let them never be rusted.

Be not a palm, but a banyan,

Let the world rest in your shade.

Learn to walk with the crowd,

Never behind, never ahead.

A man of actions and not of words,

Walks away with the show.

Never shun work, never be dull,

To adventure, never say no.

One who is loving and caring

Is really the gem of men,

In the tough test of life,

He gets ten out of ten.
